I still remember where I was 14 years ago. Even in a farmhouse in the middle of rural PA, I was glued to the TV's single channel, watching in horror as the smoke rose from the midst of New York City. It was an event that united the people of our country in a way that hadn't been seen for decades. At least it did for a little while. It's been fourteen years and most days it seems like the tragedy of 9/11 never happened. We've forgotten what we promised to remember forever. When the towers fell we forgot squabbles about religion, color, sexual orientation, even feuds between sports teams. Then as the smoke cleared, the sense of unity began to vanish as well. Today at least, let's try to bring it back. Never forget.
